Marketplace Purchase Terms

This policy is not final. Some details are still being confirmed and are marked below. Everything that is stated here applies now.

Who this is for: anyone buying something through Campus Commerce, the student marketplace inside Fresherz. It also tells sellers what they are agreeing to. If you are only using Fresherz to look for an internship or a job, nothing on this page applies to you.

Fresherz is the marketplace, not the seller. Every item on Campus Commerce is sold by an independent vendor — usually a student or a small shop near a campus. The contract of sale is between you and that vendor. What Fresherz does is verify the vendor's identity before they may trade, publish the terms on this page, keep a record of the order, and run the complaint process described in our returns, refunds and exchanges policy. Saying this plainly is a legal requirement and it is also just true.

Who may buy, and who may sell

You must have a Fresherz account to place an order. Anyone with an account may buy. To sell, a vendor must apply, upload an identity document, verify a mobile number, and be approved by our staff — an application is not a shop, and an unapproved shop cannot publish anything.

  • One person, one seller account. A shop may add colleagues, but the person who applied stays accountable for it.

  • A vendor may not list anything they are not lawfully entitled to sell. See Items nobody may list below.

  • We may suspend a shop at any time, and we will say why.

Placing an order

Adding something to your basket reserves nothing. An order exists once you place it, and the vendor then accepts it or declines it. A declined order costs you nothing and is not a mark against you.

  • You place the order and see a reference number. Keep it — every conversation about the order uses it.

  • The vendor accepts, and arranges a handover with you through the messages on the order.

  • You meet, you check the item, and you pay.

  • Both of you confirm the handover on the order. That is what closes it.

Nothing is charged by Fresherz at any point. We hold no money, take no commission through the site, and have no card or wallet details of yours.

The price you pay

The price on the listing is the price of the item. Any delivery charge is shown separately before you place the order, and the total you see is the total the vendor may ask for. A vendor asking for more at the handover than the order says is breaking these terms, and you should refuse and report it.

Prices include any tax that applies, and a vendor required to be registered for VAT must say so on their storefront. Whether a particular student seller is required to register is a matter between that vendor and the authorities, not something Fresherz can determine for them.

Paying, and any advance

Payment is cash at the handover unless you and the vendor agree otherwise in writing on the order. That is deliberate: it is the arrangement in which a student buyer sees the thing before their money leaves their hand.

A vendor may ask for an advance of no more than 10% of the order total before the handover. That is the limit the Digital Commerce Operation Guidelines set for a sale where the goods are not handed over within 48 hours of payment, and Fresherz holds no escrow that would allow more. Any advance must be shown on the order before you place it. If the handover does not happen, the vendor must return the advance in full within 10 days.

Confirming a handover

An order is complete when both of you confirm it. One side confirming is not enough, and there is no way for a vendor to close an order on your behalf. Until both confirmations are in, the order is open and every protection on this page still applies.

After a handover you have 7 days to open a complaint about it, and 30 days to write a review of it. Both clocks start at the moment the second confirmation lands, not at the moment you ordered.

Cancelling

  • Before the vendor accepts: cancel freely, for any reason, with no consequence.

  • After acceptance and before handover: tell the vendor on the order. They are expected to agree unless they have already bought or made something specifically for you.

  • At the handover: if the item is not what the listing described, do not accept it and do not pay. That is the whole point of meeting.

Items nobody may list

No weapons, no drugs or alcohol, no tobacco or vaping products, no medicines, no live animals, no adult material, no counterfeit goods, no examination papers or coursework written to order, and nothing whose sale requires a licence the vendor does not hold. Academic dishonesty is treated as seriously here as anywhere else on Fresherz. We remove listings and suspend shops for this without a warning period.

Your safety at a handover

Meet in a public place on or beside the campus, in daylight where you can. Take somebody with you if you would rather. Do not pay before you have the item in your hands. If a vendor pushes you towards a private address, an unusual hour or a payment before the meeting, that is a reason to cancel and report the shop, and you will not be penalised for cancelling.

Who is responsible, and how to reach them

The vendor is responsible for the item, its description, its condition and the handover. Fresherz is responsible for verifying who the vendor is, for these terms, for the complaint process, and for acting when a shop breaks the rules.

The person accountable at Fresherz for marketplace complaints is Coming soon. This detail is still being finalised and will be published here as soon as it is settled. If it affects a purchase you are about to make, please contact us at support@fresherzjob.com first.

Our trading details: Coming soon. This detail is still being finalised and will be published here as soon as it is settled. If it affects a purchase you are about to make, please contact us at support@fresherzjob.com first. Until then we trade as Fresherz (fresherzjob.com), Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Write to support@fresherzjob.com about anything on this page. For a complaint about a specific order, use the complaint form on the order itself — it starts the 72-hour clock the vendor has to answer within, which an email does not.

Digital files

A file unlocks after you pay the seller at the meeting point and the seller enters your handover code. You can then download it 10 times from your library (or, without an account, from the order's tracking page), and the library lasts as long as your account does.

Changes to these terms

We will publish a changed version here and date it. A change never applies backwards: an order placed under one version of these terms is judged under that version. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 are not affected by anything on this page.
